Students who taking classes in the Neag School of Education’s Advanced Statistics Computer Lab are able to access the computers remotely during off hours by using the Remote Desktop Request tool by following these steps:
- Open https://pcm-tools.its.uconn.edu/remote-desktop in your web browser
- Logon using your Net ID and Password if prompted
- Select Neag Labs from the second drop down list
- Select a time block from the first drop down, if needed
- Download the Remote Desktop Connection file provided
- Wait 30-60 seconds before opening the file to connect to the remote computer
- The username should be pre-filled with UCONN\YourNetID , if not enter that and your Net ID password
- Complete the Duo 2 Factor Authentication (If you have not setup 2 Factor Authentication or need more information, please visit https://iam.uconn.edu/two-factor/ )
- If prompted accept a security certificate.
- Logon a second time: Again, the username should be pre-filled with UCONN\YourNetID , if not enter that and your Net ID password
Important notes:
- Computers cannot be reserved or used remotely from 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. Those hours are blocked off to prevent remote users from interfering with classes scheduled in Gentry 325.
- You may need to wait a minute to connect to the remote computer after successfully completing the Remote Desktop Request. If you receive an error when connecting to the remote computer, wait a minute, then try again. If you are still unable to connect after a few minutes, please submit a Technology Support Request .
